We received a case about authenticating a dual pan card that the candidate had given as part of our background check procedure from one of our customers. The candidate stated that she had started a new business and thus applied for a new PAN card, which was granted. While validating the PAN card we had a few suspicions and hence probed further.
The Solution
We asked the customer to disclose all documents the candidate had submitted for BGV purposes including the new pan card, & the record proofs for education and previous employment so that we could better grasp the situation.
After scrutinising the paperwork, we discovered a discrepancy between the candidate's pan card photo and the one included in the educational records
Great Results
After seeing this discrepancy, we sent the proofs for a face match test. We found that the candidate had fabricated another associate's credentials and attached her photo. It was such a coincidence that both the candidates’ and the associate’s fathers' names were identical, therefore the misuse was possible by the suspicious candidate.
We concluded that the candidate had falsified the educational records to substantiate that they have a dual pan card. Based on our investigation procedure, the customer appreciated us and accepted the negative report for that candidate.
